Overlap junctions for superconducting quantum electronics and amplifiers

چکیده
Due to their unique properties as lossless, nonlinear circuit elements, Josephson junctions lie at the heart of superconducting quantum information processing. Previously, we demonstrated a two-layer, submicrometer-scale overlap junction fabrication process suitable for qubits with long coherence times. Here, extend micrometer-scale junctions. This allows us fabricate other devices. For example, demonstrate an junction-based parametric amplifier that uses only two layers. efficient yields frequency-tunable devices negligible insertion loss, gain ∼30 dB, and limited noise performance. Compared processes, minimal infrastructure, high yield, state-of-the-art device

Quantum charge diffusion in underdamped Josephson junctions and superconducting nanowires
The effect of quantum fluctuations on the current-voltage characteristics of Josephson junctions and superconducting nanowires is studied in the underdamped limit. Quantum fluctuations induce transitions between a Coulomb–blockade and a supercurrent branch, and can significantly modify the shape of current-voltage characteristics in the case of a highly resistive environment. Owing to the phase...

This paper gives a brief review of superconducting electronics in research and industry. Examples will show how science benefits from the development and how superconducting devices have found their way into industry and to some commercial products. Impact in terms of enabling new research in other fields (e.g. radio astronomy, medicine), in industry (certification, safety, metrology, etc) and ...
متن کاملSensitivity of the RF magnetic field receivers with superconducting quantum amplifiers for NMR spectroscopy and tomography
The contribution gives results of the theoretical analysis of the noise properties of the RF magnetic field receivers using the Superconducting Quantum Magnetometer (SQM) for NMR systems with the low magnetic field (Low-Field-NMR). The relation for the equivalent spectral sensitivity of the magnetic induction of the receiver, which covers the influence of the intrinsic noise of SQM, antenna sys...
